Found today: one very loved unicorn.

She’s pale pink, slightly wonky, missing most of the fluff from one ear, and has clearly been hugged hard enough to survive several major life events.

There’s a little patch sewn onto her back leg, definitely the work of a mom, grandma, or someone who refused to declare her retired.

No name tag, unfortunately.

I’m pretty sure somebody is missing her terribly.

She’s safe with us at the Family Care desk on the second floor at Silverdale Medical Center. Ask at reception.

Normally I wouldn’t post something like this here, and I know The Pulse probably isn’t really meant for this, but still.

This morning there were empty cans around the playground again. A few by the benches, one in the grass, and two more near the fence. I picked them up and threw them away, so the problem is solved now, but that’s not really the point.

There are trash cans. There are little kids playing here. It really isn’t that hard to clean up after yourself.

Maybe this sounds like a lot of fuss over a few cans, but I honestly think places like this belong to all of us, and that means taking a little bit of care of them too.

Anyway. I just wanted to say it.

Thinking about Silverdale for a long weekend with Andrew. Has anyone actually been?

It looks gorgeous, but I keep hearing things about this GRACE system and I honestly can’t tell what’s real and what’s internet nonsense. 😅 Is it something visitors have to deal with too? Can you just… go to Silverdale like any other town?

Would love to hear from someone who’s actually been there. Worth the trip from Nebraska? 🌲

I made the mistake of looking at Silverdale apartments over breakfast.

Why does even the small one look nicer than my actual apartment?

Built-in storage. Huge windows. No sad little hallway. And apparently there’s one where twelve people share a kitchen that looks better than most restaurants.

I am beginning to suspect Silverdale’s tourism strategy is just making you dissatisfied with your own life.

Anyway.

I would like the one with the terrace, please.

My cat Belle has been missing since yesterday evening. She’s a grey tabby with white paws, very friendly, and usually comes running when you call her name.

I went to the beach to surf. There were no waves.

So naturally I sat there for 40 minutes drinking an iced coffee and watching the ocean like it had personally betrayed me.
