I grew up just outside Silverdale and moved back after college, telling myself it would only be for a year. Eight years later, I’m still here. I work as an occupational therapist at a small rehabilitation clinic, where most of my days are spent helping people get back to doing ordinary things they suddenly can’t do anymore. I live with my husband, Ben, in a slightly-too-expensive house on the north side of town. We’re slowly discovering that “move-in ready” is a phrase invented by realtors. We have a six-year-old daughter, Lucy, and an elderly golden retriever named Cooper, who has somehow trained all of us to feed him twice. I’m friendly, practical and probably more observant than I mean to be. I’m not particularly interested in politics, technology or changing the world. Give me good coffee, a Saturday morning with nowhere to be, and ten minutes alone on the porch before everyone wakes up, and I’m perfectly happy.
