01 — purpose
Good design removes
what gets in the way.
GRACE Design Team is not a commercial product division. It is a nonprofit institute studying how design decisions affect comfort, safety, access and participation in ordinary settings.
Our recommendations are formally voluntary. They spread through public guidance, partner organisations and familiar products. The most useful standards gradually become part of how Silverdale does things.
02 — areas of practice
One standard at a time.
A growing library of research, guidance and applied design.
Harmony Wear
Clothing research and standards concerned with comfort, movement, presentation and everyday use.
VECTORMobility
Evidence-led guidance for safer, clearer and more accessible movement through the city.
Home & Living
Research into domestic environments, shared routines, materials and comfortable daily life.
Personal Presentation
Practical recommendations for legibility, confidence and context-appropriate presentation.
Public Design
Standards intended to make common spaces safer, calmer and easier for more people to use.

03 — from evidence to experience
Designed to be
felt, not noticed.
Research becomes useful when it disappears into everyday experience: a clearer route, an easier movement, a space that welcomes more people, a material that simply feels right.
