🏃♂️Race report: strategy good, circumstances mid
41:17. Not sub 40. Still progress

Well. Charity Run done.
Official time: 41:17.
Obviously not the sub-40 I was targeting, and yes, I know at least three of you are going to remind me that I said anything over 40 meant the training block had failed.
It didn’t.
My pacing was basically perfect through 7K. VO2 felt good, legs felt good, heart rate was exactly where I wanted it. Then somewhere around the west lake I got boxed in behind a group running four abreast and lost probably 20–25 seconds getting around them.
After that I made the mistake of trying to recover the time too quickly, pushed into zone 5 earlier than planned, and paid for it in the final kilometer.
Also, whoever decided to put the second water station immediately after a corner: genuinely interesting choice.
Anyway. 41:17 is still a 38-second PB, so I’m taking it.
More importantly, the Silverdale Pacers had nine runners today and every single one finished. Two people ran their first-ever 10K, which is honestly cooler than my stupid 40-minute obsession.
I’m taking four days completely off running.
And by completely off I mean I’ll probably do an easy recovery 5K on Wednesday.
Obviously. 🏃♂️

The New Uniforms Are a Competitive Advantage
Silverdale finally gave the cheer squad new uniforms. They fit, they move, they make my legs look amazing, and I’m fairly certain they’re going to cost the visiting team at least three points.
